The Great Lakes Sectional Championships was held in Indianapolis on 4/18-4/19. Congratulations to Leslie Chapman for coming in first for the 2009 Women's Foil Sectional Championships and Dawn Wilson for coming in second for the 2009 Women's Sabre Sectional Championships. The Wright Challenge Southwest Ohio Section Cup was held in Dayton, OH, on 3/21. Results for LFC members are as follows:

In Y10 Foil, Patrick Howard finished 13th. The next day Patrick came back for more and held his own against bigger competition (both in size and number of fencers!) in Y12 Foil where he finished 24th.
Also making their debut on the national circuit in Y12 Foil were Jackson Smith, who surprised everybody coming in 16th, and Tom Mangione who fought well and finished 27th.
Cody and Tristan Hipp made the scene in Epee. Tristan finished 6th in Y10 Epee and Cody showed some rated fencers he's got some moves and finished 22nd in Y14 Epee.
Arthur Nemeth had a long weekend of fencing competing in four events (hopefully he slept well Sunday night)! Arthur got a silver medal in Y12 Epee finishing 2nd. He also competed in Y14 Epee and finished 24th. In foil, Arthur finished 6th in Y12 Foil and 18th in Y14 Foil.
Alex Gavsyuk fought a good fight in Y12 Foil and finshed 20th in a big field of competition.Hayden Wadell also had a large field of contenders to deal with in Y14 Foil where he finished 36th.
Nate Morrison took the strip against the Y14 Epee giants and finished 15th.
